Medical Coding Trainer

Qualifications

• Must possess CPC from AAPC and preferably a CPC-I
• Must have minimum of 3 years training experience
• Must have Advanced English Writing ,Reading and Communication
• Must pass a Pre Screening Evaluation
• BS in Nursing, Allied Health, Training or similar areas, preferred

Duties

• Administers, implement and update coding education programs for Outpatient services
• Administers curriculum for coders to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for competency in a post production environment
• Identify, tracks and monitors coders and students progress within training program
• Assist in administering curriculum for newly hired coders prior to working in a coder production environment
• Provides constructive review and feedback to assist in the development of instructional materials to include course plans, objectives, and evaluation tools
• Accurately follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory bodies
• Maintains compliance standards in accordance with the Compliance policies and the Code of Conduct and reports compliance problems appropriately
• Participate in daily, weekly and/or monthly meetings via telecommunication
• Directly reports to Coding Director

• Ability to use computer at intermediate level
• Ability to deliver material effectively in person and via technological avenues
• Understand and carry out verbal and written direction
• Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision
• Ability to work in a fast paced and production environment
• Ability to research topics related to job outside of normal business hours
• Ability to work in an office setting for minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week
