Staff Accountant

Job Overview:

The Accounting Officer is responsible for managing the general accounting function, payout system and processes, the internal control procedures in the company. As such his/her functions, include but not limited to: review accounting and general ledger entries, check accuracy and compliance with established rules and accounting principles; prepare financial statements, management accounts and statistical reports. He/she shall also be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

 

Timekeeping

  • Prepares daily timekeeping report to be submitted to individual accounts' management.
  • Follows up with operations management for employee schedules.
  • Respond to timekeeping related inquiries and addresses concerns related to timekeeping.

Payroll

  • Facilitates the payroll procedures Downloads the time records from the main door biometrics machine.
  • Facilitates the reviewing and approval of timelogs care of the operations leaders every payroll cut off day.
  • Monitors requests for salary deductions.
  • Formats and prepares payslips.
  • Respond to payroll related inquiries.
  • Implements payroll corrections.
  • Coordinate with accountant for proper charging of salaries.
  • Calculates the payroll for a pay period.
  • Participate in the New Hire Orientation for the explanation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and implements government contributions.
  • Makes sure employees are deducted correct amount for statutory contributions.
  • Implements loan payment contributions and monitors amortization schedule.
  • Sends statutory contribution report to accountant for facilitation of payments.
  • Implements monetary benefits into the payroll as necessary.
  • Occasionally run errands to banks and government agencies to settle transactions (i.e. payments, submissions, etc.)
  • Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.

Budgetary Follow-up

  • Assists in formulating and monitoring the budget of a business and provides recommendations on budgetary allocation.
  • Monitors expenditures, revenue and use of company resources to ensure businesses operate within budget.
  • Provides monthly or quarterly reports to management on budgetary performance.

Account Management

  • Management of both general and subsidiary accounts.
  • In charge of depositing revenue received by a business in the requisite accounts.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

General Accounting

Processes all invoices payable to different entities such as but not limited to office and employees expenses, payments to suppliers, etc.
